Computer Science Lecturer – Shropshire, Birmingham (Locals)

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive IT support across our Birmingham site, with occasional travel to other locations as required.

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Computing Lecturer to join our esteemed faculty. In this role, you will inspire and educate the next generation of computing professionals, delivering high-quality instruction in cyber security, computer science, software engineering, and information technology. You will design and implement innovative curricula, utilising the latest advancements in the field to create engaging and practical learning experiences.

Key responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for all aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work. This includes ensuring that learning outcomes are achieved through the use of diverse teaching methods and materials
  • Keep up to date with subject specific and pedagogic innovations
  • As part of a team, play full and proactive part in engaging and retaining students
  • Attend meetings as required, to contribute to the decision making process and to develop productive working relationships within the various teams you will be engaged with
  • Design and deliver engaging lectures and seminars in various business subjects
  • Develop and update course materials, ensuring they reflect current industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Assess and grade student work, providing constructive feedback and support for academic growth
  • Participate in curriculum development and program reviews to enhance the quality of our Computer science courses
  • Mentor and advice students on academic and career related matters.

About You

  • You will hold qualifications at least to master’s level in the the relevant subject area
  • You will ideally hold a PhD or demonstrate equivalent high level professional experience in the discipline
  • Any professional qualifications are advantageous
  • Previous teaching and lecturing experience preferred
  • Enthusiastic and knowledgeable business professional
  • Strong foundation in Computer Science theories and current industry trends
  • Passionate about teaching and committed to academic excellence
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds

Schedule

  • Day Evenings and Weekends with a possibility of some days during the week.
