The role of the
Board of Governors

The Board of Governors is responsible for providing strategic leadership, oversight, and accountability across School of Coding & AI. The Board works to ensure that the organisation delivers on its mission, maintains high standards of educational quality, and operates in a sustainable, ethical, and effective manner.

The Board of Governors is responsible for the following:

Strategy

Determining the mission, vision, and strategic direction of School of Coding & AI and overseeing the organisation’s activities.

This includes:

Leadership Oversight

Providing independent oversight and constructive challenge to the Executive Leadership Team.

The Board is responsible for:

People and Culture

Providing oversight of the organisation’s people strategy and ensuring appropriate frameworks are in place for staff, volunteers, associates, and contractors.

This includes:

Financial Stewardship

Providing oversight of the financial management and sustainability of School of Coding & AI.

The Board is responsible for:

Safeguarding and Learner Welfare

Ensuring that effective safeguarding arrangements are in place across all programmes and activities.

This includes:

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Ensuring that equality, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility are embedded throughout the organisation.

The Board has regard to:

Governance and Risk Management

Maintaining high standards of governance, accountability, and organisational integrity.

The Board is responsible for:

The Board of Governors acts independently of the Executive Leadership Team and is committed to acting in the best interests of School of Coding & AI, ensuring that the organisation remains focused on delivering educational excellence, innovation, and positive outcomes for learners and communities.
